Did you give your baby a tablet or phone in the first years of life, and now are you worried about the consequences? Calm down, there is a way out!

📱 Did you give your baby a tablet or phone in the first years of life, and now are you worried about the consequences? Calm down, there is a way out!
Many parents reproach themselves for sometimes turning on cartoons to drink coffee in silence or to have a quiet ride in the car. Sound familiar?
Recently, scientists (A*STAR Singapore and McGill University) published the results of a unique 10-year MRI study that answered two main questions: what really happens to the brain due to early screens and how to fix it.
🧠What do screens do?
Aggressive flickering of pixels (up to 2 years) causes the baby’s brain to “grow up” too quickly. The neural networks of the visual cortex are urgently “cemented,” closing the window of natural flexibility. According to research, by the age of 8–13 this often results in increased anxiety and difficulty switching attention.
📖 And now the good news (our “antidote”)!
Tomography showed an amazing thing: regular joint reading with a child aged about 3 years almost completely neutralizes the negative impact of early gadgets on the architecture of the brain!
An ordinary paper book in mother’s or father’s hands returns lost plasticity to the child’s brain. But there is a secret here: you need to read it correctly - in the format of a dialogue.
When you don’t just monotonously read the text, but stop, look at the pictures, and ask: “Why do you think the bunny hid?” and connect the plot with the baby’s life, the visual, auditory, speech and emotional centers simultaneously flash in his brain. The brain completes the construction of those very flexible bridges that protect the child’s psyche.
👉 We at the BrainUp center have prepared a large and clear analysis of this study. The article explained exactly how reading rebuilds neural networks and gave clear practical advice on interactive reading.

👇Moms and dads, share in the comments: how are you doing with reading? Do your children love to listen to books or do they find it difficult to sit still?
