Jerusalem joke fountain
All my childhood I was looking forward to a trip to Peterhof, which was given to me for graduation for the main joy - the opportunity to get wet in the joke fountains. When I grew up, I looked in the crowd for the guy who pressed the button exactly at the moment when the children did not expect it at all.
Fortunately, this is (almost) also the case in Israel.
Very close to the Jaffa Gate of the Old City is the favorite entertainment of Jerusalem children, which works, despite all the strictures of faith, even on Shabbat. In the park named after Jerusalem Mayor Teddy Kollek (https://www.jerusalem.muni.il/.../sade-site/museums/place...) a fountain is turned on every day, and in the evenings with music. It’s a special pleasure on a hot day to run around the area, trying to guess from which hole a stream of water will burst out.
I'm adding swimming in this fountain to the children's itinerary to the Jerusalem Bridge (we're going there this Shabbat, by the way), but you can always do it yourself.
⛲️The fountain turns on for 25 minutes every hour from 10:00 to 17:00 in the afternoon and twice more in the evening at 20:00 and 21:00. Enjoy.
🕔 The park itself is open until 22:00, public toilets are open next to the fountain, but even without them you can find a secluded place in the park to change your child’s clothes.
