Classes at the Attic

Most of you don't even know who I am, even though I've been in Israel for almost nine years, five of which have been teaching children. It's time, let's lay down the cards and get acquainted!
***
I'm Marina Fazulina, a cultural studies expert and the author of several educational courses on cultural studies, anthropology, biology, and the history of medicine for schoolchildren, as well as for any interested adults. And these aren't just hobby groups—they're full-fledged original courses, with a logically structured curriculum.
It might seem like a strange combination at first glance, but firstly, I love an interdisciplinary approach; and secondly, with two degrees (medical and as a teacher of life sciences), I can delve deeper into various topics.
I live in the north of the country, in Karmiel. And, for those who don't know, that's in Israel.
I also run several other clubs for younger children:
- Plasticine Lab;
- Introduction to Fairy Tales;
- Colorful Fairy Tales;
- acquaintance with great artists.And I can talk about artists thanks to my diploma as a "teacher of the Moscow Art Culture" and my Theuda as an Artist, which I received in Israel, and my participation in art exhibitions as an artist—meaning I also write.
Another program launched this spring—"Anatomy of Life"—where we create biological models with children using construction sets and other materials.
And I probably wouldn't have started from scratch in Israel five years ago if I hadn't had an excellent foundation—three children, now grown children. It was they who helped me master many different techniques while they were preschool and school age.
A very important achievement of mine is the creation of a small private museum in Karmiel, called LittleAttic;
And because we, as a large family, and two cats, actually live under a roof;
And also because "the most important part of every person is the Attic, that is, their head; and it must be filled with good thoughts from childhood" – I quoted a fragment from the animated film of the same name, created 10 years ago based on my daughter's fairy tale.I really love in-person classes because interacting with children truly fuels positive energy; besides, if a child feels more comfortable working one-on-one with a teacher, that's also a plus. And such offers are very few. But children get very tired of constant socialization: they are constantly in the public eye, and they constantly have to assert themselves. But where can you find a place where you can relax, spend time in a calm environment, and learn something new at the same time?!
The first principle of Attic classes is to awaken interest in the subject and expand the horizons of knowledge of the world;
And the second important principle is visualization: in my classes, I use presentations, games, and models. For example, for the anthropology course, the museum has a collection of skulls ranging from proconsuls to Neanderthals and Cro-Magnon man. Numerous visual aids have already been created for the "cats" course.
There's a very large game library and library in the Attic. And you can use it.
If in-person classes aren't possible, this year I've created a second option for teaching schoolchildren—Zoom classes.Where can I see what I'm doing? Parents' feedback?
I have a Little Attic page on Facebook; I'm also the admin of the "Karmiel for Children" group, where I have many posts about courses and the Attic. And, of course, I've accumulated a wide variety of materials on my account over the past five years.
All my posts are public, and when I have time and inspiration, I document family life events. #stories_from_mamad are one of those. Sometimes I need to reflect on what life throws at me.
During the 40-day forced break from peaceful life, I held an online quiz on the history and culture of the Ancient World, and all participants received prizes – free classes or discounts on master classes at Cherdachok.
