This is the largest region of Israel, literally stuffed with attractions that even the natives of the country sometimes don't suspect
And you won't believe it: we are waiting for... skiing, a crater and swimming in the rocks!
✅️Skiing in the desert?
Yes, you heard right. This is really a surprise!
If everyone is used to skiing on snow, then skiing on sand is exotic even for seasoned travelers🏂.
Since the 70s of the 20th century, sand skiing has been gaining popularity around the world. There are even world championships in sandboarding - that's what this unusual sport is called. Israel is no exception: here they actively develop sand dunes, because you can ride almost all year round!
We will start the day with sandboarding - riding on a wide sand ski.
The instructor will teach you three positions: lying down, sitting (like on a sled) and standing.
And during breaks - rest in the shade, cool water, tea and coffee.
✅️ After riding - a picnic by a desert lake (take food with you)
✅️ We will make a stop at a picturesque lake in the desert: we will find out how it arose and what impressive archaeological sites are nearby.
✅️ Next - the Great Erosion Crater.
The second largest in the world! We will make several stops with fantastic views, learn the geological secrets of the crater and its history.
You will hear why in the 30s In the 20th century, the British became so interested in this place that they built a road and a village right inside the crater. We will even see the surviving parts of the buildings!
✅️The finale of the route is the Ein Yorkeam Nature Reserve.
After leaving the crater, one of the most amazing corners of the Negev awaits us - the valley of the Hatira River, flowing out of the crater.
We will walk along a beautiful path to a spring hidden in the heart of the desert, among white phantasmagoric rocks.
✅️We will go down the Roman steps, once carved for pack animals. And, if the weather permits (and we think it will 😊), we will definitely swim in the spring water - right in the middle of the desert!
🛎Recommendations: closed comfortable shoes and clothes, swimsuit, towel, food for lunch.
